Emerald Tablet is the new album from Vancouver production duo Potatohead People and emcee/singer Slippery Elm. As the title suggests, this tablet is full of gems, taking the listener on a starry journey to a unique world of hip-hop, jazz fusion, and neo-soul. Accessible yet innovative, melodically lush yet never formulaic, Slippery Elm’s groove-centric vocals and evocative story telling over PHP’s signature blend of horns, rhodes, off-kilter drums, and slamming bass lines, is a pairing like fine red wine and rich dark chocolate.
